Q: How long has Optima Control Solutions Ltd. been in business?

A: We began trading in August 1995.


Q: Do Optima work in my industry?

A: That obviously depends... We are fortunate that our skills and the technologies that we apply do have value and are applicable to most vertical sectors. Consequently we boast a wide portfolio of projects in many sectors; paper, printing, packaging, metals, converting, aggregates, building components, plastics & rubber, food and bev, chems and pharms and coating and laminating. Q: What geographical areas do Optima work in?

A: We have control systems installed in most continents, UK, Europe, USA, South America, Far East, Asia. Our engineers travel the world installing and commissioning control systems for UK and overseas based clients and we provide on-site engineering consultancy to companies throughout the world. A: Professional, knowledgeable, diligent.


Q: What is the highest value project that you have undertaken?

A: A little over £500,000.00 That was a complete upgrade of an 80+ variable speed drive control system on a large coating line.


Q: Do Optima provide after sales cover?

A: Yes. We have a very high level of expertise covering both component technology and applications. So whether it is a breakdown situation or a process issue our engineers attend site and provide a valuable support service.


Q: Do Optima work to a quality system?

A: Yes we do. We have developed an in-house quality system that has stood up to rigorous scrutiny by some of our larger clients. We know that the service we provide is critical. We believe that tight project control is essential, at each stage, from the survey to commissioning. Our quality system guides our engineers and project managers through the each project stage. It helps us to deliver successful projects.


Q: Do Optima provide a turnkey solution?

A: Yes. Depending upon the client’s brief and the project scope we very often manage the whole scope of a project, including mechanical engineering and electrical installation. Q: Are Optima owned by or commercially associated with any other company?

A: No. Optima are completely independent. Privately owned and independent means we offer completely impartial advice to our clients applying the most appropriate equipment for their particular application.


Q: Do Optima work with any manufacturers control equipment or just a selection?

A: We work with most popular equipment manufacturers, probably in the same proportion as their market share – coincidentally. We are Solution partners with Siemens, approved integrators for ABB, Wonderware, Bosch Rexroth, Schneider, we have expertise with Rockwell equipment, Parker SSD, GE Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Omron, IMO etc. all the usual suspects.
